Promoting Natural Regeneration of Walnut (Juglans regia L.) in Walnut-Fruit Forests of Kyrgyzstan

This article presents the results of a study on the natural regeneration of walnut (Juglans regia L.), based on the natural regeneration of walnut undergrowth in walnut-fruit forests of the Dashman State Nature Reserve in the Kyrgyz Republic. The potential for natural regeneration of Juglans regia is very limited due to the heavy anthropogenic pressure on walnut-fruit forests. To ensure natural regeneration, it is necessary, in addition to limiting anthropogenic impacts such as excessive grazing, unsystematic firewood collection, haymaking, etc., to implement agronomic measures aimed at improving the promotion of natural regeneration in walnut-fruit forests.
